I think I write more about Sunday mornings than any other day or time of the week. They are my favorite. Somehow, they always start off quietly. It honestly shocks me every week. This house, despite only having Libs and Reese here on the regular now, gets LOUD and BUSY. There is music and activity, clatter and energy. There is our familiar busyness of gathering (our STUFF) and going (to who knows where). Stillness here is RARE. This house is truly alive. And when everyone is home, it’s down right electric. But on Sunday morning, seemingly without fail, it sleeps. And it’s wonderful.
Well, I hope you all have a day where you can enjoy some peace and quiet!!!
During the day our home can get VERY quiet with everyone gone. It’s something I don’t think I’ll ever get used to especially after having had four children. Kids come with a TON of noises! But there is one noise that has to be one of the cutest and sweetest sounds I’ve ever heard. I look forward to hearing it after being in a silent home. It always puts a smile on my face and Reese is REALLY good at it!
Well, I hope you all have a day where you hear lots of giggles!!!
I ALWAYS miss Sid and George when they are off at college, but Sunday mornings are worse. WAY WORSE. Our house is far more quiet than it normally is and there are less people to cook breakfast for. I guess it’s like that all week when they are gone, but Sunday, it all just seems to effect me more. BIG SIGH. It might sound silly, but when I feel down like this I drink my coffee out of one of the Northern California mugs that they have given me. It somehow makes me feel closer to them … and THAT makes me happy.
Well, I hope you all have a day where you make yourself feel better!!!
As loud as our house is during the day there is this amazing quiet that falls over it in the early mornings. Don’t get me wrong. I love the hustle and bustle of our house. The busyness is energizing. Having the sound of all four of my kids home is one of the best things I could ever hear. But this early morning calm is somehow reassuring to me. It is the sound of safety and tranquility. Coziness and warmth. Rest. Contentment. Family. Like everyone is where they should be and they feel it … and I love it.
Well, I hope you all have a day where you fell like you belong!!!
Early Sunday mornings are the most mellow time of my week. And by early, I mean EARLY. I tend to wake up before everyone else but on Sunday it’s just different. I wake up much earlier than I need to, and all on my own. It’s quieter than a typical day. There is a stillness in our home that is unusual. And incredibly pleasant. I often get to enjoy my coffee in bed. Uninterrupted. It. Is. WONDERFUL.
Well, I hope you all have a day that starts with a special treat!!!
Sunday. After 9 a.m. No one but me is awake.
Well, I hope you all have a day where you experience a miracle!!!
I was totally taken off guard this morning when I realized that NO ONE needed me. Sid was asleep. G3 was in his room playing on his computer. Libs was at a friend’s house. And Reese, who had a 12-hour tummy bug, went back to sleep after she ate breakfast. I was in shock. The house was quite for hours. HOURS. That doesn’t happen much around here, especially when so many of us are home. And me??? What was I doing during this time? Sitting my butt on the couch, that’s what! I was even there so long I started feeling guilty, HA!
Well, I hope you all have a day where you get some unexpected down time!!!
