(Wardrobe) confusion …

I was absolutely freezing this morning. We had a pretty cold rain for us. We were in the 30s where I live and that is really unusual. But not as unusual as it was to be snowing in parts of Southern California like it did! Weather craziness! Anyway, my life long avoidance of the cold had me prepared. I was wearing a shirt with a sweatshirt over it, a scarf, a jacket and boots with socks. I was PREPARED!

Until I went and got a manicure and pedicure.

It never occurred to me that I wasn’t going to be able to put my boots back on for a while. And I had errands to run! So there I was dressed from head to toe for epic winter weather … wearing flip flops. What could people have been thinking?!?!

Well, I hope you all have a day where you don’t look (wardrobe) confused!!!

Losing ground …

I was frazzled a good portion of the day. I have been staying on top of the holidays and everything they “require”, along with everything LIFE has handed me. Question: Why does LIFE hand me SO MUCH laundry?!?! Anyway, this morning I felt like I was about to lose my grip on all of it. IT WASN’T PLEASANT. I felt my handle on things was slipping away. I pictured myself falling into a spiral of online shopping and a frenzy of midnight wrapping sessions (that may or may not include crying). Somehow I managed to pull it together again and I even managed to squeeze in a manicure and pedicure before I picked Reese up from school. With a little more strategic planning I might even be able to go out tonight WITHOUT having any guilt for leaving things unfinished. Whoa.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you don’t lose ground!!!

It can go either way …

Reese has never had a professional manicure and pedicure. She loved going with me when she was little but has only liked it when Sidney or I painted her nails at home. I think now that she is older that she will really like it if she gives it a try. So I decided, as a little summer treat, that I’d take her later today. I’m not sure how it’s all going to go down because I’ve been talking it up A LOT and she’s still showing absolutely no interest. HA! So I guess we will have to wait and see what happens when we actually get to the nail salon. Fingers (hehe) crossed!

Well, I hope you all have a day where it could go either way!!!

Lovely things …

Today as I sat getting my nails painted with intricate designs I realized something about myself. I decorate EVERYTHING. My house. My car. My nails. My kids! Thank goodness Reese still loves bows, HA! And I think I figured out why I do. I am always looking for reasons to be happy. It’s become my superpower. A lot of it comes naturally for me but there are those times in my life when a little extra goes a long way. And I find that it is often the silliest and smallest details that bring me my biggest smiles.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you decorate your life with lovely things!!!

Creeped out …

I have gel nails. I mention this only because I need to get a new set and they are literally driving me crazy. I truly believe that they are the best fit for my nail needs, but holy moly, at some point they grow out enough to kinda snag on things. Yikes. I file them and buff them, but as they “age” they lift-ish. It feels soooo weird and awful. And if my nails touch something in just the right (or wrong) way, I get the heebie geebies. Yet, I go back for more.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you aren’t creeped out!!!

More harm than good …

Sunday I got my nails done. I spent the entire time in a massage chair. I kept it on the rolling and kneading setting that runs up and down your whole back. At the time it felt wonderful. Now. Not so much. I can no longer use my right shoulder without pain. Swell.

Well, I hope you all have a day where relaxing didn’t cause more harm than good!!!
