Smooth sailing …

Have you ever had a day where you just glided through it? One of those days when everything went calmly and without even a ripple? Well, today I am having one of those days. I woke up energized, had an easy run and enjoyed yoga immensely. I got my housework done quickly and then I was able to purchase some things that I wanted at a Young Living Essential Oil flash sale before they ran out. I breezed in and out of my car dealership picking up my car in less than 10 minutes. I had no traffic heading out to meet my cousin and my aunt for lunch. And NONE on the way back either! Before I realized how my day would continue to unfold I had picked up a meal kit from Whole Foods for an simple dinner. What a perfect way to end this definitely NOT rough and rocky day. Whoa!

Well, I hope you all have a day where it is smooth sailing!!!

Taking the sting out …

Libs has a tennis tournament this morning. It started yesterday and her opponent defaulted. So we went to lunch at a place near the tournament that we don’t get to go to a lot. It made the 40 minute drive AND the 40 minute wait time (we got there early) for the match to be called not so frustrating. Yesterday she also didn’t need to be there until 2 pm, which is WAY better than having to be there earlier and not get to play. This morning 2nd Round begins at 9:30. I had set my alarm on a vacation day! Ouch. But thankfully I woke up before my alarm went off. I love it when that happens. I feel like I didn’t miss out on one of the biggest perks of winter break. SLEEP. I can’t be 100% sure but I think I see a recurring theme happening over the past day.

Well, I hope you all have a day where the sting gets taken out!!!

A wonderful day with someone I love …

Today my big kids headed off to Disneyland so it was a perfect opportunity for me to take Reese out Christmas shopping. She wasn’t felling well and had basically spent the past few days sleeping off the virus. I was starting to feel like she was missing out on all the excitement you feel from that wonderful Christmas rush. Luckily the pressure was off me today too, as most of the presents that the kids wanted had already been purchased. Today was about being out IN IT and utterly enjoying IT. So I dressed Reese up in her “I’m on the nice list T-shirt” and her cute little green and red plaid tutu and we headed out. Our first stop was lunch with one of my best friends from high school. It was so last minute, but it worked out perfectly!

After lunch Reese and I wandered around Barnes & Nobel and then headed to the mall. It was so much fun just spending the day with her enjoying Christmas in this way. I loved seeing the wonder in her eyes as she looked at all the decorations and her excitement as we walked by Santa. I’m not a mean mom for just walking by, she saw Santa once already this season and will see him again Christmas Eve with her brother and sisters for their annual “Santa Photo”. A tradition 18 years in the making.

Anyway, I loved today. Seeing the world through Reese’s eyes is a gift. She keeps my soul young. She reminds me of how important it is to still let the world WOW me and that it’s OK to believe in a little magic. Yep, this little girl has my heart and she teaches me some valuable lessons.

Well, I hope you all had a wonderful day spending time with someone you love!!!
