I was absolutely freezing this morning. We had a pretty cold rain for us. We were in the 30s where I live and that is really unusual. But not as unusual as it was to be snowing in parts of Southern California like it did! Weather craziness! Anyway, my life long avoidance of the cold had me prepared. I was wearing a shirt with a sweatshirt over it, a scarf, a jacket and boots with socks. I was PREPARED!
Until I went and got a manicure and pedicure.
It never occurred to me that I wasn’t going to be able to put my boots back on for a while. And I had errands to run! So there I was dressed from head to toe for epic winter weather … wearing flip flops. What could people have been thinking?!?!
Well, I hope you all have a day where you don’t look (wardrobe) confused!!!
Holy moly. It is cold here. At least it is for us folks in Southern California. Our high today is 59 degrees. I went outside earlier wearing just my flip-flops. BAD IDEA. With as easy as I get cold, I’m not sure what I was thinking. It’s going to take me until Spring to defrost!
Well, I hope you all have a day where you don’t freeze your tootsies off!!!
My 4 year old Ree is still home from school. After being THAT sick, I’m not sure when I’ll be ready to send her back. Hopefully I will feel good about it by the end of the week. Until then I’ll just enjoy watching her have fun at home. She is into everything again. Playful. Happy. Chattering. I love it. But I can tell she’s missing school too. She’s not on her normal schedule and I can tell she feels it. Perhaps it was mother guilt, but today I saw her dismay in her schedule change stronger than ever. She was happy as a clam playing and listening to her music, when she came to me with one sparkly pink flip flop. Now, this is not unusual. My Ree loves to wear jewelry, shoes and decorates herself quite frequently. The odd part was that she only brought me one. Typically she would not be satisfied with only one. She would make me hunt down the other flip flop. But not today. After I put her one flip flop on her foot she walked happily, albeit lopsided, away … and it made me think. Wouldn’t life be grand if we could fix our off days by only wearing one shoe? To fix our problems that throw us off balance by counteracting it the other way with a shoe? Flip flops for small dilemmas, high heels for personal disasters? All of life’s problems … fixable … with a shoe … BIG SIGH … a girl can dream …
Well, I hope you all have a day where you find your center!!!
