Finding what you’re looking for …

Have you ever tried to look for something, like a product or service, and realize that there isn’t one? This has happened to me more times than I can count and it usually leaves me scratching my head. HOW can I be the ONLY person needing IT? Or … am I really THAT bad at using Google? HA!

Well, I hope you all have a day where you find what you’re looking for!!!

Knee high donut socks …

If you ever need knee high donut socks for a race that you have the very next day, I can confirm that you won’t find them. Not anywhere.

Trust.

Me.

Well, I hope you all had a day where you found what you were looking for!!!

Milk bottles …

On March 2, 2015 a friend of mine and I went to our local Michael’s craft store. What I purchased that say literally became a 6 month (minus one day) battle of the wits. My wits. No one else’s. Mine and mine alone. And it revealed a level of stubbornness that far exceeds that of normal people. And as of yesterday it all paid off. I think.

I have written before about how we have a coffee/beverage bar in our kitchen. It houses every thing you could ever want for hot and cold beverages. Coffee, tea, sugars, spices, syrups, even mini-marshmallows and seasonal candies like peppermint for the holidays. It’s my happy place and a place that my friends and family enjoy too (so that makes me extra happy). And it’s honestly probably one reason I don’t frequent coffee houses nearly as much as I used to. So I guess it saves me money too!

Anyway, I mention all of this because back in March, I had an idea. I wanted to put all of the edibles found in my coffee bar into mini glass milk bottles. I thought it would clean things up a bit on the bar and also look cute too. So, that day at Michael’s, WAY back in March, I bought 10 milk mini glass milk bottles. The problem was that they didn’t have lids. I figured that that was OK, I would just purchase them elsewhere.

AND THAT is when my saga began.

I looked FLIPPEN everywhere for those lids! I even had my friend searching! Neither of us could find them. I found BAZILLIONS of places that sold the milk bottles, but NO LIDS. I didn’t understand! When I would ask at stores, my friends or family if they had ever seen them, I got the same responses. No one knew where to find them and everyone told me to order them online.

Online. Hmmmm.

This is where my stubbornness came into play.

Why?

Why should I have to order something online that appears to be a pretty important attachment to a previous IN-STORE purchase???

I refused.

I was determined (OK, and probably a little obsessive and crazy) but I wasn’t going to give up. I was going to find those stupid little lids IN A STORE, even if it took me the rest of my life to do it.

Well, yesterday I had to run into Michael’s for something. I had previously rechecked this store several times over in the past 6 months (minus one day) to see if they had decided to start selling the lids (THE LIDS THAT GO ALONG WITH THE MINI GLASS MILK BOTTLES THAT THEY SELL) and I found nothing … until yesterday.

There they were.

The lids.

Six to a package and just hanging there like they had been there all along.

I really don’t think anyone else around wanted them, but I grabbed two packages of them like they where the hottest buy on Black Friday. They. Were. Mine. FINALLY.

I immediately text my friend. Our 6 month (minus one day) milk bottle lid search was over! And I found them the old fashioned way. No online needed.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you find what you are looking for!!!
