Reluctantly back at it …

Reese and Libs went back to school today. BIG SIGH. They were definitely not happy about it. I have to admit that I wasn’t thrilled about it either. Being sick made for a very mellow last half of their winter break. Plans were changed. Trips didn’t happen and outings got postponed. I’d complain but to be honest, I love being with my kids no matter where we are and what’s going on. Sure, I could have done without the fever and cough but having all four kids home will always be my happiest of places. I think the rain we got this morning made returning to our normal school day schedule a little bit harder too. Rainy days should be filled with cuddling, hot chocolate and movie marathons. But this morning was filled with alarm clocks, lunchboxes and umbrellas. Ugh. Thankfully Sid and George don’t return back to their universities for a few more weeks so we still get lots of WHOLE family time despite Libs and Reese’s return to school. I’ll just keep reminding myself of that as I’m sloshing through town today running my errands.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you reluctantly get back at it!!!

Playing hooky …

I don’t like to leave the house after December 23. My family will attest to this. We usually host Christmas Eve so this works. I much prefer being cozy at home than fighting crowds and traffic. But that means I have to have ALL my holiday shopping and errands done a day before. This is usually not difficult for me. But this year I have failed miserably! So much so that my family is rallying to help me get it all done. Sid even decided not to work at our shop today which is HUGE. This kid never misses work! And I appreciate her help even HUGE-ER.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you feel like playing HOOKY!!!

Spinning …

We have had a busy summer. It's been fun but we have been on the go since George's graduation day in June. It's honestly been a whirlwind. The past few days we have had at home we spent catching up on life. And by life I mean laundry, HA! Well, that was part of it anyway. But we also had even more running around to do. Ugh. Next week Sid is moving into her new house and George will be moving into his dorm. So we had lots of shopping and packing that needed to be done this week. Not to mention Libs and Reese! Luckily they have a few more weeks of summer left so I still have some time to get their back-to-school things in order. Thank. God.

Last night George and I finished the last of our errands to get him ready for college. I felt so relieved! So relieved that I think my body shut down when I went to sleep last night. I woke up in the same position I fell asleep in. Ouch. And I was rudely reminded by my body that I drank no water yesterday. How is that even possible?!?! Busy anxious mom-ness is how that is possible! Needless to say I was so dizzy when I woke up that I could hardly walk. I guess my body has had quite enough of this summer schedule and has decided it's time for me to rest. OK, fine … I'll reluctantly listen.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you aren't spinning!!!

A yoga hangover …

I didn’t think it was even a possibility but yesterday really tired me out. I slept well, but definitely woke up feeling IT. I’m certainly sore and kinda sluggish. Thank goodness G3 was willing to cart my tush around because I would have never gotten everything done today without someone driving me around and telling me to “hurry up”. HA!

Well, I hope you all have a day that doesn’t include a yoga hangover!!!

Eating bonbons (I WISH) …

A summary of my day. Running errands. Here to there, EVERYWHERE. Doing chores. EW. Handling DISASTERS. One is quite enough. Phone calls. No really, I have THAT many children. Paperwork, lots. AND LOTS. In conclusion: MEH and BLAH.

Well, I hope you all had a day where you sat around eating bonbons!!!
