Pretty darn normal …

Breakfast with my son before he left to go back to college (BIG SIGH). A manicure and pedicure (Ahhhh). A nail in my tire (UGH). A courtesy vehicle (ALWAYS an adventure). A free drink (YAY). Dinner at a childhood favorite (where is my scrunchie and back brace?). And an evening left to enjoy (HECK YEAH!).

Well, I hope you all had a day that was pretty darn normal (TOTALLY RARE)!!!

A priceless gift …

I had an awesome date with an awesome guy last night! This guy stole my heart years ago and still makes me feel like the most special person alive. Who is this man?!?! MY SON. George is leaving soon to begin his second year of college. BIG SIGH. Last year he and my girls surprised me with a night out before he left. It took a lot to pull off and it was such a treat for me. I loved having that time with him. One thing I was really sad about, with him heading off to college, was that our long talks would not be so commonplace. I absolutely LOVE our talks! So having time with just him and some precious uninterrupted talk time really made me happy. And to my surprise, my sweet son told me a few weeks ago that he planned on making our mom and son date night a tradition. Well, you all know that I’m a crier! And that, I did. I think the most valuable thing a person can EVER give me is their time. It is something that I will NEVER take for granted and something that I will ALWAYS appreciate. Without a doubt, sharing moments and creating memories with the people that I love will fill my heart with joy.

Well, I hope you all have a day where someone gives you a priceless gift!!!

A nice day …

Holy moly, I am wiped out. I am still feeling the fallout from my awful long run on Friday and it’s been a hectic performance weekend for Libs. We were also out late last night after her final show for a little celebratory dinner and for some crazy reason I work up EARLY this Sunday morning. But it’s all good. I am so thankful for the a blessed and busy life we have! And despite being a little beat up, I plan on enjoying this day to the fullest! Later we are headed to the beach to attend a luncheon with some people I just adore. I can’t think of a better place or way to spend an afternoon recouping!

Well, I hope you all have a nice day!!!

Happily pulled in 1000 different directions …

Yoga. Back to college. A tennis lesson. Dance. Girl Scouts. Cookies. LOTS OF COOKIES. A film crew. Winter Formal. A facial. And hopefully, a nice quiet dinner. Yup. I think that sums up most of our Saturday. I have lived this busyness for so long that I honestly think I’d miss it if suddenly we were no longer involved in absolutely EVERYTHING. I certainly wouldn’t know what to do with myself.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you are happily pulled in 1000 different directions!!!

Good BBQ … or not …

I made an early dinner of fish, orzo and broccolini tonight. It was yummy, but when I smelled what my neighbors were cooking outside I got hungry all over again. I didn’t eat nearly enough today and it was wildly apparent as I sat there envying their dinner as the wonderful smell permeated throughout my house. Boy oh boy, it smelled delicious.

And then, a little while later I left my house.

To my shock and bewilderment, I found that what was the mouthwatering faint smell of a summer picnic inside my house, was suddenly an overwhelming smell of disaster outside of my house. My neighbors weren’t cooking a thing! There was a fire near by!

It’s times like these that I seriously laugh at myself.

Well, I hope you all had a day where you craved some good BBQ!!!

Stuffed …

Tonight I made burgers for dinner. They ended up being MASSIVE. Seriously, these things were HUGE! I filled them with bacon, shredded cheddar, sautéed mushrooms, onions, and jalapeños. Or a variety there of. Seriously. They. Were. HUGE.

Well, I hope you all had a day where you were STUFFED!!!
