Don’t laugh at me …

While I was getting my miles in this morning I heard a familiar and pleasant noise but it didn’t know where it was coming from. I then saw a woman running after her dog. They stopped by a tree and her dog excitedly stood there looking up at a squirrel who had perched himself on a branch about 12 feet above them. Then I heard the noise again … and I couldn’t believe my ears! The woman and I just looked at each other. She must have seen the shock on my face because without even having to ask her, she confirmed that she was hearing the same thing that I was hearing. Now I will admit that I have been witness to a few strange animal encounters in my day, but all I could think was that THIS had to be the funniest one yet!

Well, I hope you all have a day where someone (or some creature) doesn’t laugh at you!!!

Born free …

Running in the wind is hard. Running in the wind and heat is even harder. But there is something primal about it. It’s got to be the closest feeling I’ll ever have that mimics an animal running in the wild. I might look more like a chihuahua running across a gated dog park. But I sure feel like a cheetah running top speed in the African grasslands!

Well, I hope you all have a day where you feel BORN FREE!!!

Suburban wildlife, me and my weird life …

I don’t want to get into too much detail on how my day went, so I’ll just share a tidbit of how my morning looked. On my run I broke up a fight between a bird and a squirrel. Yup. That pretty much sums up it up.

Well, I hope you all have a typically weird day!!!

More animals in my circus …

This week has been filled with pandemonium and this afternoon we had a visitor that added to our mayhem. Just as we arrived home from Reese’s school carnival and were rushing out the door for the second of three performances for G3 and Libs, a lizard made its way into our house. The timing couldn’t have been more ridiculous. Thankfully G3 was able to get the little beast out of our house fast enough for everyone to get to where they needed to be one time. But all I kept thinking was … a freaking lizard … NOW?!?!

Well, I hope you all have a day where you don’t have more animals added to your circus!!!

A change of heart …

This morning there was a cat walking on the wall in our backyard. Reese saw the cat and squealed “kitty cat” to the best of her ability. She has seen this cat about a BAZILLION times, and honestly, sometimes it scares her. She has been quite reserved and cautious when it’s been around. Only minimally acknowledging it. But today, for some reason, it was like she was seeing a cat for the first time and, boy oh boy, was she HAPPY about it!

Well, I hope you all have a day where you have a change of heart!!!
