Around here September is our second busiest month of the year. December is our busiest. With school starting in late August and Libby and Reese‘s birthdays both at the beginning of September, it’s downright crazy around here especially when we add in dance and sports. At about the middle of September, right after all the birthday celebrations are over, there comes an easy Sunday and all I feel is relief. OK, and a little exhaustion. It’s also the day that I begin to emotionally wrap my brain around the fact that summer is ending. But not this year. Last Saturday night we had Libby’s birthday party and Sunday morning we thought it was a great idea to switch Reese into a different bedroom. This took a solid two days and it was no easy feat for any of us. I have two significant injuries to prove it, HA! But I have one happy little girl so it was definitely worth it.
Ahhhh … summer’s end. I guess there is no stopping it no matter how busy we may be. This transition to Autumn is never an easy one for me. And although it may have come a few days later than usual for me, I am still feeling a familiar reluctance in bidding farewell to my favorite season.
Well, I hope you all have a day where you are sad to see it go!!!
I don’t care if Summer officially starts next week. With George home from college already, Sid coming home this week too and Libs and Reese’s last day of school on Thursday, I am officially claiming that Summer has started TODAY. Woo HOO!!!
Well, I hope you all have a day where you start early!!!
My kids are BUSY. There are a lot of them. And they are heading in all sorts of directions. Libs and Reese have one more week of school left. THANK GOD. Libs had her Farewell Concert last night and her choir banquet is tonight. After that it’s JUST finals. For the record, when finals are used in correlation with the word “just” you know it’s been a heck of a school year. Despite there only being a week left, we still have a lot to work out too. UGH. I have some issues to deal with regarding Reese’s school plan for next year. Along with that I am helping George maneuver through the study abroad program. THAT is a DOOZY. So needless to say, the end of this school year has kicked my mom butt. I keep telling myself it will all be over soon. Which is actually what I tell myself on practically every run and race I’ve ever completed. HA! Anyway, the difference a mere seven days will make is honestly astonishing. School will be out, we will have lots of answers to our questions and Sid will be home. I simply can’t wait.
Well, I hope you all have a day where you make it to the finish!!!
This evening my son George is coming home from college after finishing up his sophomore year. Sid is done with her semester next week. I also realized today that Libs and Reese only have three more Fridays left in their school year. The anticipation of summer and all its’ adventures is just so EXCITING!!!
Well, I hope you all have a day where you CAN’T WAIT!!!
Libs and Reese go back to school one week from today. BIG SIGH. This summer went by so quickly. Although there have already been some significant changes around here, I’m just not ready to give it all up yet. And I’m desperately holding on to every last beautiful moment.
Well, I hope you all have a day where it doesn’t all slip away!!!
Life can always be an adventure if you press on and look up. And by “up” I don’t just mean “optimistically”. I mean literally looking up from our phones and electronic devices! There is SO much of our world to see and I can’t bear the thought of missing it because I chose my phone over another beautiful life experience. And trust me, by looking up you can see some pretty incredible things, like the Pigeon Point Lighthouse that we stumbled upon. Talk about literally LOOKING UP! We are changing our route up a bit today but we are still heading north. And I simply can’t wait to see what we will discover!
Well, I hope you all have a day where you move onward and upward!!!
Our explorations took us farther north today and we saw so many wonderful sights! We even hiked down to Shark Fin Cove. It was a little treacherous for someone like me because I am deathly afraid of heights and falling. But this was worth casting my fears aside! It was AMAZING! It’s times like these that remind me that bravery has its perks.
Well, I hope you all had a day where risking life and limb turned out beautifully!!!
