Adventure awaits us! Today we have a geyser, goats and flowers on our list of things to see. Seriously, stuff like this is what I live for. Being outdoors and seeing new things is so much fun! OK fine, I’ve seen goats and flowers before, but not THESE goats and flowers. And I’ve NEVER seen a geyser in action. Whoa! But all of this is made especially great because I get to experience it with people I love. YAY!
Well, I hope you all plan the best day ever!!!
Yesterday we took our annual Fall trip to Oak Glen. It is ALWAYS a beautiful day and it’s ALWAYS so much fun! It’s nothing like where we live. AND our cell phones don’t work there either. I LOVE IT. We have uninterrupted family time together. YIPPIE! We enjoy long walks and apple and chestnut picking. There are pumpkins and hay bales, trees and NATURE! It’s such a great way to experience and appreciate the change of seasons, especially living in Southern California. THIS is one of my most favorite family traditions.
Well, I hope you all have a day where feel like you visited a different world!!!
Southern California is supposed to be getting some serious rain today. So far, where I am, it’s been a little windy and somewhat rainy. It’s been quite a few years since we have had any considerable rainfall, so I’m not sure if all the “hype” is going to be realized in a Noah’s Ark size storm. Perhaps we’re all just a little shocked that it’s actually raining again. HA!
Well, I hope you all have a day where something BIG happens!!!
Today is absolutely amazing! It looks and feels like a beautiful Spring day, but it’s still winter! It started off sunny and cool and it evolved into PERFECT. We have had so much rain in Southern California that I almost forgot how good this kind of weather feels. And don’t even get me started on how gorgeous our blue our sky is. Eeeeee! I want this. FOREVER.
Well, I hope you all have a day where you want MORE of a good thing!!!
I am giving a big shout out today to anyone living in a colder climate than Southern California. Yes, I know there are TONS of you. And you all are surely higher on the survival of the fittest ladder than myself. You people living in freezing weather for months on end deserve a medal and a special place in Heaven. This morning I ran in 44 degrees and haven’t been the same since. Seriously, I think parts of me will never be the same again. Important parts!
Well, I hope you all have a day where you don’t freeze your soul!!!
It’s raining. It has been for the past day. I usually don’t like the rain unless I’m inside. It’s nice to watch, but I don’t ever really want it to touch me, HA! For some reason this rain has been unusually pleasant for me. Perhaps it’s that I feel like this type of weather goes along with Christmas. I’m not sure. But it’s cozy. And I actually don’t mind being out in it. Living in Southern California I know that the rain will soon be gone. Until then, I’ll just appreciate it and allow it to make our holidays feel … um … more holiday-ier.
Well, I hope you all have a day where you enjoy it while you can!!!
Today we visited one of my happy places, Oak Glen, California. It’s a lovely little town nestled in the mountains that has “u-pick” opportunities throughout the year. Our favorites are raspberry picking in the summer and apple picking in the Fall. I love going there because it feels like being in a different world to me. Time is somehow lost to us there. The busyness and stress of our real world are gone for just a few hours. It’s wonderful. We talk and laugh and just enjoy one another’s company. WITHOUT interruption. And it couldn’t be more beautiful there. The colors are so vivid. The views are spectacular. The sky, glorious. All of it, nature’s finest. It’s truly magical there.
Well, I hope you all had a perfect autumn day!!!
