Things went awry …

Despite how well I plan and how many “safeties” I have in place, sometimes things still don’t go as I had hoped. BIG sigh.

Well, I hope you all have a day where things didn’t go awry!!!

Peace and quiet …

I think I write more about Sunday mornings than any other day or time of the week. They are my favorite. Somehow, they always start off quietly. It honestly shocks me every week. This house, despite only having Libs and Reese here on the regular now, gets LOUD and BUSY. There is music and activity, clatter and energy. There is our familiar busyness of gathering (our STUFF) and going (to who knows where). Stillness here is RARE. This house is truly alive. And when everyone is home, it’s down right electric. But on Sunday morning, seemingly without fail, it sleeps. And it’s wonderful.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you can enjoy some peace and quiet!!!

Sing your heart out …

It’s been a doozy of a week for us over here, but we are finally at the end of it. It is closing night of Libs’ Spring musical and this is the performance that we will be attending. I CAN’T WAIT! I can’t think of a better way to end this hectic week than by watching Libs perform. It’s one of my most favorite things to do. Libs is incredibly gifted and her passion for music is felt all across the theatre when she is on stage. She is truly in her element up there. As a mom, I don’t think you can experience something more beautiful than watching your child do what they love most. It is THE BEST.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you get to sing your heart out!!!

Excited to learn…

I have been certified as a Nutrition and Wellness Consultant for almost four years now. To keep my certification I need to complete 16 Continuing Education Units every two years. Getting and keeps my this certification has been so enjoyable for me. The classes are EVERYTHING that I am interested in and they have fed a passion that developed the summer that I turned 12 years old. Yep, I was only 12 years old when I first found an interest in fitness and nutrition. That’s when I started working out outside of school P.E. classes and started cooking and creating healthy meals in the kitchen. I can thank Richard Simmons for it too! His show sparked this whole way of life for me and I honestly couldn’t be more thankful. This truly has been a life long learning and practicing process for me. Recently I found out that my school was offering a class on the wellness and healing of plants and herbs and I knew I just had to take it. A few months ago I made the commitment to incorporate essential oils into our family’s lifestyle. I have loved it! And I think that this new class will complement all we have been living!

Well, I hope you all have a day where you are excited to learn!!!

Holding it all together …

We have been home 2 days from our wonderful Spring Break trip and it’s officially GO TIME. This is performance week for Libs and our world won’t be calm and collected until about 10 pm on Saturday night. It will all be worth it, but it’s going to be a whirlwind of a few days.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you hold it all together!!!

Respectful and respectable …

It always shocks me when I hear and see adults use foul language in anger or in frustration. The last couple of days I’ve seen people use words on social media that just aren’t very becoming of their character. I also saw two adults, over the weekend, flip people off. I’m not saying that I don’t slip up and say a “bad word” from time to time. I do. But it’s NOT a regular thing for me. And I am definitely NOT a flipper-off-er. The use of profanity and any ugly actions or reactions just aren’t for me. Maybe it’s the writer and social worker in me, but I always feel that there is a sensible and practical way to communicate with each other even in the most heated discussions. Being calm and controlled in our conversations and being conscientious of our language says a lot about how we feel about others and it speaks VOLUMES about ourselves.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you are respectful and respectable!!!

My happy heart …

I took a few days off from writing to focus on the rest of our Spring Break. I got to see ALL FOUR of my kiddos AT THE SAME TIME! It was WONDERFUL! There is truly no other place in the world I’d rather be than with them. And although we all parted ways again yesterday afternoon, I’m still feeling the joy that came from being together.

Well, I hope you all have day where your heart is happy!!!
