Yesterday I went to the wedding of one of my best friends from high school. It was a pretty darn perfect day in my opinion. The weather was gorgeous. The bride and groom were happy. And the reception was a blast! We all had so much fun. And I think the biggest reason why, is that this beautiful couple brought a lot of us together who hadn’t been in been in REAL contact, other than through social media and maybe an occasional event here and there, for a long time. It was so good to see everyone. It was like no time had passed at all. We danced and laughed and joked and talked and shared just like we did over 30 years ago. I think that if decades later you can feel as comfortable with your high school friends, as you did in high school, then you have definitely been blessed with special friendships. I know that I have been and I’m truly thankful.
Well, I hope you all have a day where you celebrate a lifetime of love and friendship!!!
One of my best friends from high school is getting married today! I am so happy for her and her husband to be. Honestly, there is a special kind of peace that you feel knowing that someone you love dearly has found true love. It’s beautiful and my heart is full of joy for them! I simply can’t wait to see them live happily ever after together.
Well, I hope you all have a day where you hear wedding bells!!!
So I guess I have a recurring theme this week. Time. I went to Costco earlier this week and time stood still there. Getting to the store, through the store and home in an hour. On top of that I seemed to find a lot of time in my days getting everything I needed to do and almost everything I wanted to do, done. It was honestly weird. And WONDERFUL. And DEFINITELY out of the ordinary. I rode this strange happening happily all week KNOWING that it would all come to a screeching halt eventually. And it did. Today I set out to run a 10k. Nothing official, just me running 6.2 miles. Anyway, there are a lot of runs that I will purposefully use an app that won’t have any voice prompts that tell me my distance or pace. The days I “run by feel” are often the most rewarding to me and they also allow me to see where my pace is really at. Today was a “run by feel day” and I have to say that I felt great. I enjoyed the heck out of my run. So much so that I lost track of how many miles I thought I had run. I got so lost in my run that I had no concept of how much time had passed. I just knew that I had been out there having a good time and figured I just HAD TO BE close to 6 miles. I sooooo wasn’t. I was only at 4 miles. What had worked for me all week was suddenly OVER. HA!
Well, I hope you all have a day where time is on your side!!!
In the morning I like my coffee super hot. In the afternoon I like my iced coffee incredibly cold. If at any point my morning coffee gets cold or if my afternoon iced coffee gets warm I am TOTALLY GROSSED OUT. This is another thing about myself that I simply cannot understand. Isn’t one, just turning into the other? Not in my brain! It’s all just becomes WRONG.
Well, I hope you all have a day where you don’t want to spit!!!
I drove to, shopped and drove home from Costco today in only one hour. I have absolutely no idea how I did that. We live at least 15 minutes away from the store and my receipt is proof I didn’t just have a few items I was there for. Definitely NOT. And I even had to roam around a little to find batteries! I’m utterly baffled at how I pulled it all off. It just doesn’t add up!
Well, I hope you all have a day where time stood still!!!
I went to the dentist today. And I survived.
Well, I hope you all have a day where that was enough!!!
Have you ever had a day where you just glided through it? One of those days when everything went calmly and without even a ripple? Well, today I am having one of those days. I woke up energized, had an easy run and enjoyed yoga immensely. I got my housework done quickly and then I was able to purchase some things that I wanted at a Young Living Essential Oil flash sale before they ran out. I breezed in and out of my car dealership picking up my car in less than 10 minutes. I had no traffic heading out to meet my cousin and my aunt for lunch. And NONE on the way back either! Before I realized how my day would continue to unfold I had picked up a meal kit from Whole Foods for an simple dinner. What a perfect way to end this definitely NOT rough and rocky day. Whoa!
Well, I hope you all have a day where it is smooth sailing!!!
I forgot to factor something into my Sunday morning. It wasn’t a guarantee being so early so I proceeded with my plan. I wanted to wake up before everyone else, do some yoga and some serious stretching and then go for a short run. I don’t normally run on Sunday but I felt I needed it. I thought it was all A GO, but then my favorite 9 year old, who went to sleep really early last night, woke up. I know that Reese is mine, but there is absolutely nothing sweeter than seeing this messy-haired, tired-eyed peanut drag all of her favorite blankets (there are three of them now) and her heavy rice-stuffed lamb, Kellie, into my room to cuddle. My world stops for her. I don’t even know how to not stop it. It just happens naturally and all of my heart and intentions turn to her. Nothing else seems more important. Nothing.
Well, I hope you all have a day where your plans get happily interrupted!!!
Breakfast with my son before he left to go back to college (BIG SIGH). A manicure and pedicure (Ahhhh). A nail in my tire (UGH). A courtesy vehicle (ALWAYS an adventure). A free drink (YAY). Dinner at a childhood favorite (where is my scrunchie and back brace?). And an evening left to enjoy (HECK YEAH!).
Well, I hope you all had a day that was pretty darn normal (TOTALLY RARE)!!!
Today we headed to the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival. It was was EVERYTHING I had hoped it would be. Yummy and not crowded. HA!
Well, hope you all have a day that is filled with fun and food!!!
