The lucky few …

Today was The Down Syndrome Association of Orange County’s BUDDY WALK 2017. And I absolutely love this day. Nine years ago I had no idea that in just a few months my life would be filled with new people who would change me for the better. People who would unknowingly become some of my greatest heroes. People who I would cry with and celebrate with. People who would so generously trust me to share in their lives. And people who would lovingly share in mine. Yet, here I am. This event is so much more to me than just a fun fundraiser. It’s a collectivity of people I have come to know and respect. Many of whom I had the privilege of meeting just days into their introduction to Down Syndrome. They have blessed me so much. I can’t hold the tears back at this event. I love these families. I love being one of them. And I love this organization and its’ mission. There is a moment at each Buddy Walk that I take for myself. I look out across the stadium and see the crowd that has gathered. It is beautiful. At this event I’m not just the facilitator of our Circle or Friends group, I am part of an incredible community of human beings who understand the gift we have all been given. I am honored and humbled that God chose me for this. And I will always be grateful to stand in the presence of these warrior souls who are all just a little more tender, fight just a little bit harder and love a whole lot deeper than anyone I’ve ever met before.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you are part of the lucky few!!!

Dig deeper …

Have you ever been so curious about something that you just have to research it … to death? HA! Like no amount of knowledge you gain is going to be enough. You just have to keep at it so you can reach new levels of understanding. And then when you do … you still want to uncover even more!

Well, I hope you all have a day where you dig deeper!!!

Cheap and dirty …

The dealership I bought my car from gives me free weekly car washes. This is awesome. Heck, this alone makes buying the car worth it, HA! This morning I went to get my car washed, and boy oh boy, it needed it. But sadly, the carwash was closed. Oy. Now I could have taken my disgustingly dusty and water spotted car to another carwash and paid for it. Trust me, I NEEDED to because my car is gross! BUT … I didn’t want to. And I’m feeling no shame for waiting it out either. None.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you feel cheap and dirty!!!

Decorate your life …

Our family has at least five events going on over the next week. Some requiring more sprucing up than others. Needless to say, I should just camp out at our local party supply store.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you decorate your life!!!

Vibrant …

I’m not sure what it is. Perhaps the weather. The air quality. The season. My mood, HA! But the past few days have been utterly gorgeous. Colors seem to be more vivid and intense. Everything just seems so crystal clear. I love noticing things like this. I don’t want busyness and life to get in the way of appreciating the world around me. That would be a shame!

Well, I hope you all had a vibrant day!!!

The one who started it all …

Today is my daughter Sidney’s birthday. She is the one who made me a mom and who helped me find the greatest joy I’ve ever known.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you are the one who started it all!!!
