Facial peels and my ability to blink …

I did a facial peel a few days ago. Our weather has also been significantly cooler. Needless to say, my skin is a little freaked out. OK … a lot. And now, so am I. My skin is tight and well, TIGHT. Like I have one heck of a ponytail fastened in my hair and it’s doing more than pulling my hair back.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you can still blink!!!

Humbly and gratefully back at it …

After six weeks off of running I ran two miles today. It was probably the most emotional run I’ve ever had in my life. There were many times over the past six weeks that I really wondered if I would ever run again. I was physically miserable and the thought left me a crying mess. My friends and family urged me to be patient, that I would know when I was ready. I was skeptical at best.

But this morning I laced up and ran. It was wonderful. I capped myself at two miles. I figured that was a good place to start and I let my body decide my pace. It felt fantastic to be out there! I honestly could have run at least double what I did, but I am not pushing it. I am not risking injury or illness. No way! Not gunna happen. And I’ll be honest, I want to savor every minute of this “comeback”. I am not taking one step for granted. Each is truly a gift. I am so thankful to be given the opportunity to run once more. It is a joy I wasn’t sure I would ever feel again. I want to appreciate it. Feel it. Own it. No. I am not pushing or rushing any of this. I’m simply going to enjoy it.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you are humbly and gratefully back at it!!!

Squeezing it all in …

Sid flies back to San Francisco tonight. I’m not happy about it, but again, I wouldn’t want it any other way. Regardless of how sad it makes me, she needs to get back to school and the life she has made there. But until she gets on that plane later, she’s mine! And I plan on making the most of every minute we have left together. We are jam-packing our day with lots of fun and doing some of our favorite things!

Well, I hope you all have a day where you squeeze it all in!!!

Half a blowfish …

After being up and shopping for hours yesterday I finally collapsed into bed last night around 10:30. Um. I’m pretty sure I slept on my face. The right side of my face. All. Night. Long.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you don’t look like half a blowfish!!!

Thankful …

We are not having our typical Thanksgiving this year. Circumstances just didn’t allow for it. Getting sick derailed my favorite holiday! I’m definitely missing the excitement of throwing our annual extravaganza. It is always so much fun. But I just can’t feel bad for myself. In a few short hours Sid will be here and I will once again be surrounded by the people I love most in this world, my kids. Ever since I was in the hospital my heart has ached to be with my Crew. ALL OF THEM. And today I FINALLY, get what I have been hoping for.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you are thankful!!!

Winning at life, AGAIN …

I was in and out of Trader Joe’s in less than 25 minutes AND before 8:30 this morning. I finished at the carwash by 10:00. And I completed a yoga class by 11:30. This all means one thing and one thing only.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you feel like you are winning at life, AGAIN!!!
