Perfect timing …

On the last day of this awful crazy month, I couldn’t have been happier to wake up to a group text from my sorority sisters from college asking if I wanted to go to dinner tonight.

 Why yes, YES I DO!

A nice relaxing evening out is EXACTLY what I need.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you experience perfect timing!!!

Happily sad …

Sid went back to school today. BIG SIGH. Don’t get me wrong. I can’t be more thankful that she was heathy enough to return. Her recovery from the cardiac ablation was quick and her doctors saw no reason for her not to return to San Francisco for her second semester. I love that her dreams weren’t put on hold. Knowing she is back there makes me smile. She loves that city and her school. She’s chasing her dreams and that fills my heart with joy.

But darn … I can’t help that I miss her so much already.

Well, I hope you all have a day where you are happily sad!!!

Shaking my head in disbelief …

Ever have an interaction with someone and become so shocked by what they said to you that you were thankful you had witnesses to hear it too? I won’t get into all the sorted details, but suffice it to say that I was grateful to have had Sid there to ask, “Did they really just say that to me?”

Well, I hope you all have a day where you aren’t shaking your head in disbelief!!!

My boobs …

I gotta apologize before I start because this one may be a little TMI. But I have to write about something I’ve been dealing with all day. My boobs.

Yep. I said my boobs.

Yesterday I had my yearly routine mammogram and I had one over zealous tech. I have never had someone spend so much time making sure my boobs were completely and securing in that modern medicine torture device. Don’t get me wrong. I am thankful for that life saving machine from hell and the tech’s thorough work habits. But good god almighty, my boobs hurt! And by “hurt” I mean I am in boob misery. I ran this morning and just about cried putting on a compression bra. My eyes watered! Not to mention the actual running part. Oh. My. God. Lord, have mercy. I spent the rest of my day avoiding any boob pressure. I have never so much envied men and their ability to go shirtless without fear of being arrested. OUCHIE.

Well, I hope you all had a day where your boobs didn’t feel like they were stuck in a vice!!!

A feel good moment …

Today I read about a dog who was let out to pee and ended up running an entire half marathon. Race officials even awarded the dog a medal. And get this. She placed 7th!

I can’t love this story more!

The world is filled with so much pain these days. The news, if you can stomach watching it, is just awful. So much sadness and pain. It’s heartbreaking. And then, there are stories like this.

Well, I hope you all had a day where you had a feel good moment!!!

I tried something new and didn’t break my neck …

This morning I met a friend of mine and her daughter at the gym. They are joining and I went with them to help them get started. It was a fun morning trying all the machines and equipment. And I even tried something new myself! The elliptical machine! The only way I can describe this thing is that it’s a machine that mimics running without the pounding and forward momentum. I’ll be honest, prior to today, that thing scared me. Heck, until I got the hang of it, it still scared me. There are a lot of moving parts to this thing, even arm parts. Parts that I was convinced would cause me irreparable harm and/or knock me the heck out. But today I overcame all that about a half mile in on this thing. Once the panic wore off and I no longer felt like I was about to become a YouTube video gone viral, I realized it feels a lot like what I would think running on the moon would be like. Fluffy. Hoppy. Bouncy-ish. And I really liked it!

Well, I hope you all had a day where you tried something new and didn’t break your neck!!!

I had so much fun …

I love to cook, bake and create in the kitchen! One of my favorite things to do is to try new recipes and today I did just that. This morning I pulled a bunch of oranges from our tree and proceeded to spend hours in my kitchen. I was in heaven!

Well, I hope you all had a day where you had lots of fun!!!

Safe and sound …

The past two weeks have sucked the life out of me and have made me super paranoid. All I want to do is curl up with my kids into a protective cocoon and shut the world out for a little while. A secure regrouping of sorts that ensures everyone’s well-being. An opportunity to allow my maternal nature to run wild with precautionary measures! But I know we can’t do that, so I will just settle on being happy with having everyone home for family pizza night tonight, HA!

Well, I hope you all have a day where you know that the people you love most are all save and sound!!!
