Peace of mind …

Most days I am pretty happy. Then there are those days when I have a happy heart with an overwhelming sense of calm. Make no mistake, happiness doesn’t always come wrapped with this bow, at least not for me anyway. For me happiness is a choice to not let anything rob me of my hope, no matter what life hands me. But then, there are days like today, when a calm washes over me. It can happen even when my life feels like a roller coaster. It’s a sudden feeling that makes me feel that everything is right in my world … and it feels, simply wonderful.

Well, I hope you all had a day where you found some peace of mind!!!

I shopped until I dropped …

Today is Black Friday. I have been shopping on Black Friday with my family and friends for like a BAZILLION years. It is a day full of complete and utter fun. Perhaps it’s the sleep deprivation but we laugh until we cry, literally, all day long. It’s a day that I look forward to every year. I am always exhausted when it’s over (15-17 hours of shopping will do that to a person). But somehow sleep pales in comparison to all the memories we make.

Well, I hope you all had a day where you shopped until you dropped!!!

A nudist …

I was lucky enough to have finished a lot of my Thanksgiving Day prep quickly today. So I decided to work on little things around the house to busy myself. One of the things I tackled was laundry … a whole lotta laundry. I think I created laundry when none existed … oh … my … god … what was I thinking?!?!

Well, I hope you all had a day where you wanted to be a nudist!!!

I had a ridiculous TO DO LIST today to prepare for Thanksgiving. Yes, I know I have two more days, but I really wanted all my running around done today so I could enjoy the GETTING READY part of my favorite holiday.

Well, I hope you all had a day where you GOT IT ALL DONE!!!

What the heck were they thinking …

So this evening Sid and I picked up a turducken for Thanksgiving. We’ve never served one before so this should to be interesting to say the least. Luckily our family and friends who are coming to our celebration are pretty adventurous with food. But I have to admit, the whole concept of this manmade beast has me scratching my head a little bit.

Well, I hope you all had a day where you couldn’t help but wonder what the heck was someone was thinking???

Back to the beginning …

Yesterday I was acting like a complete nut. You could ask my family and my closest friends and they would agree. Why, you ask? Because I was running in my second offical 5K ever. Yep, 3.1 miles … and it had me a crazy person.

I have mentioned before that when I started racing my goal was always distance running. I wanted to run half marathons and marathons. Once I did a 5K and a 10K I felt confident to proceed to that level and I never looked back. I only just recently ran my second official 10K last June.

Anyway, my point in telling you all this is because I believe the 5K is quite a challenge. There is no bad moment or mile that you can recover from. It’s all over so fast, you had better make sure you are flawless! I’m not saying that distance runners have it easier, but they do have more time and miles to make up for a slower stretch on the course. Finishing a 5K has a very different running strategy FOR SURE, and one that has my respect!

Of course today I was not flawless along that 3.1 mile course, BUT … and this is a BIG BUT … I was able to manage 2nd place in my division. Go me 🙂

Well, I hope you all had a day where you happily went back to the beginning!!!
